Day1. 7:00 am. Nairobi-Samburu.
This Safari departs from a Nairobi Hotel, residence or from the airport at 7:00 am. Drive to Kenya’s Northern Frontier district passing through Kenya’s most fertile highlands. This drive will enable you to see the rural setting of this beautiful Country, pass through vast plantations of coffee, pineapples,wheat and maize before crossing the Equator at Nanyuki. Proceed north arriving Samburu National reserve in time for lunch.
3:30 pm. After lunch we explore this Wild and rugged reserve captured in famous movies like the survivor and Tomboy. Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannah vegetation and doum palm trees lining the Ewaso Ngiro river. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas which is home to some of the most rare species only found north of the equator. This includes- the reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s zebras,Vulturine guinnea fowls,the Somali Ostrich and Beisa Oryx. Enjoy watching huge herds of elephants bathing by River Ewaso, and a possibility of spotting the two big cats of Africa- Lion and Leopard. Dinner and overnight at the Samburu lodge.{FB}
Day 2: Samburu-Nairobi.
0630 Hours- 0830 Hours: Enjoy an early morning game-drive in pursuit of more animals as they hunt. Capture the Samburu sunrise in the horizons. Return back to your Lodge for proper breakfast. Check-out of the hotel. Your guide can take you for an optional visit to one of the Samburu villages for an authentic cultural experience. Later drive to Nairobi with Lunch en route arriving by evening.
