Distance from Nairobi – 160Km (2hrs by road).
Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake in the Great Rift valley. The park was created in 1960 as a bird life sanctuary. It is a beacon for leading Ornithologists, scientists and researchers for its 450 birds species and about 30 white rhinos. Game drive in this park is relatively easy with a possibility of spotting the big 5 of Africa.
Safari program; Itinerary.
DAY 1: 7:00am. Depart Nairobi hotel by road and head for L. Nakuru National Park. On the way you will stop for a spectacular view of the great escarpment in the Rift Valley. As you drive along the wall of the Rift Valley you will view L. Naivasha and L. Elementaita. Arrive Nakuru in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing in L.Nakuru park. This park is the home to Kenya’s only Rothschild giraffe, there is also a good number of white Rhinos being protected in this park Dinner and overnight at the Nakuru lodge.{FB}
DAY 2: 6:30am. Early morning game drive in L. Nakuru park with a good chance you can spot the elusive leopard. Return to lodge after 2 hours for proper breakfast.
10:00am, Depart lake Nakuru park, and proceed to Lake Naivasha for an optional boat excursion, the boat ride will get you closer to hippopotamus colonies and is also a good vantage point to photograph water birds. Boat ride is charged $ 25 per person.
After the boat ride you can take your Lunch by the shores or your guide can give suggestions for a good place at Naivasha town. Lunch today is on your own arrangement.
After Lunch proceed to Nairobi arriving around 5:00pm.
