Lake Baringo is set in the great Rift valley, north of the equator and about 285 km from Nairobi. It’s about 130 square km and is the most northern lake after lake Turkana and is also one the three fresh water lakes in the Rift valley. A boat excursion will get you closer to a colony of hippos, enjoy a bird watching safari including feeding of the African fish eagle with a resident guide.
Lake Bogoria is a shallow salty alkaline lake set about 20km from lake Baringo, the main attraction here is the natural hot springs that forms steam geyser jets from the ground, breath taking sceneries, a huge concentration of flamingoes and other water bird species. Enjoy a game drive in this fascinating park and discover a variety of wildlife roaming freely.
Safari program; Itinerary.
Day1. 07:00am-You are picked up from your hotel or residence by our guide. Embark on a 5 hour drive heading west, you will be passing through the rush kikuyu central highlands and the Great Escarpment. A brief stop at the Great Escarpment for a scenery view, bathroom and refreshments. Proceed on to enjoying the views of Mt. longonot, lake Naivasha, lake Elementaita, and lake Nakuru. A brief stop at Nakuru town. Another stop will be by the Equator line at Mogotio,the local folks will perform a traditional experiment that determines the accuracy of the Equator line.
Arrive lake Baringo’s spur safari lodge in time for your lunch, later check into your rooms.
3:30pm: proceed on to a game drive at the Lake Bogoria national reserve, your highlight today is to get closer to millions of flamingoes that are found on the banks of this lake, later proceed on to the hot springs as you watch a variety of plains game. Return to the lodge at around 6:30 pm. Your evening is at leisure, dinner will be served from 7.30 pm. Afterwards,you can sit by a camp fire or opt for a Swim. The swimming pool at the spur is naturally heated.

Day 2:8:00am-Breakfast at the Bogoria Spur Safari lodge.
Afterwards around load up and leave for Lake Baringo.
9:30am-Boat Excursion in Lake Baringo, this will enable you to Explore the lake closely, you will come closer to the hippos and crocodiles and have a chance to see the olkokwe island that hosts the exclusive Island camp. You will also enjoy watching the feeding of the African fish eagle. Boat Excursion takes about an hour and a half.
After the boat excursion, an optional nature walk with a resident guide by the lake shores can follow. You will be tracking some of the possible 500 bird species found in this ecosystem. An optional visit to the Baringo museum and snake park can be undertaken before you start your journey back. You can opt to take your picnic lunches by the shores of the lake or on your way back to Nairobi. Another great option is to have a lunch buffet booked in advance at the island camp set in the middle of the lake. Drive to Nairobi arriving around 5:30pm.
