General Info; Masai Mara National Reserve is the most famous wildlife destination in Kenya. Set some 270 km Southwest of Nairobi, it is the most visited and protected Park covering an area of 1,812 square kilometers. Mara means spotted, it constitutes miles upon miles of savannah grasslands, meandering rivers, forests, swamps and towering escarpments.
Masai Mara is a rewarding wildlife arena at any time of the year but the climax is during the annual Wildebeest migration that occurs from July to October; During this season, over a million wildebeest, 200,000 Zebras, 300,000 Gazelles cross over from the Serengeti reserve in Northern Tanzania to the Masai Mara in search of greener pastures; the greatest spectacle however is during the crossing of the Mara River, where thousands drown while others end up in the jaws of the ravenous crocodiles.
The predators follow the migration on their frenzied journey which makes the Mara an ideal hunting ground for lions, leopard, cheetah, and the hyenas.
The Mara is also home to large herds of Elephants, Buffalos, hippos and a variety of herbivores.
Bird watchers will enjoy the parks serene environment and study some 400 different species of endemic and migratory birds in this important bird area. {IBA}

Day 1: Masai Mara
7:30am: Early breakfast and pickup followed by a departure for Masai Mara game reserve; this will be an interesting drive with good views of Central Kikuyu highlands and the Masai Loita plains interspersed with Masai rural villages, a short stop at the great Rift valley view point will be worthwhile and deserved. Later enjoy occasional spotting of wildlife on the way which makes this drive interesting.
We take another brief stop at Narok town, a fast developing agricultural town struggling to entangle itself from Masai culture and dominance.
1.30 pm; Check in at your reserved accommodation in good time for a delicious lunch. Accommodation will be on a single, double or three people sharing a room basis. Game drive follows in the afternoon, this is a world famous park, you will be looking out for the big five of Africa; Lions, Elephants, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo in addition there are several other mammalian and reptile species found here in abundance. The scenery is captivating and a golden sunset will unveil in the horizons before your eyes.
6.30 pm; you are driven back to camp for dinner and overnight. Enjoy a camp fire and possibly some entertainment by traditional local folks {FB}.
Day 2: Masai Mara
07.30 am: After a sumptuous breakfast, embark on a full day game drive in the sprawling Mara reserve, this day will enable you to penetrate the park further enjoying the abundance of wildlife and beautiful scenery. Your drive takes you all the way to the famous Mara River in a bid to capture thousands of migrating herds of wildebeest and gazelles as they attempt a daring crossing of the crocodile infested river. It will be an exciting, breathtaking and memorable sight to behold.
Your picnic lunch will then be served in the wilderness under a convenient acacia tree overlooking the endless Mara plains. Later on you will drive back with an en route game drive. You will have an optional chance to visit a Masai traditional village {Manyatta} for an authentic and impressive cultural interaction and experience.
4.30pm; Return to camp after an exciting day in the park, you can take a relaxed sundowner walk with a Masai moran or opt for a swim; dinner and overnight at the camp {FB}.
Day 3: Masai Mara
6:30am; Early Morning game drive, this is a perfect time to capture the early activities of predators and a captivating Sunrise, search for more animals before returning back to the camp at around 8.30am for proper breakfast and to prepare for your drive back to Nairobi.
10:00 am: Depart for Nairobi with picnic lunch boxes, or your guide will help to find a convenient spot for your lunch. Arrive in Nairobi in the evening after 3 days of an amazing Masai Mara safari. You are dropped off at your residence, hotel or at the airport for your outbound departure flight {HB}.
