“The Great Rift Valley Lake Safari” is a captivating and immersive expedition that takes you on a journey through the remarkable landscapes and abundant wildlife found around the Great Rift Valley lakes of East Africa. This safari offers a unique opportunity to explore the stunning natural beauty and diverse ecosystems of this region, which is well known for its scenic splendor, incredible birdlife, and thriving wildlife populations.
Highlights includes; Lake Naivasha, Lake Elementaita, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria and Lake Baringo all strewn along the basin of the Great Rift Valley; a remarkable ancient geological formation carving through Kenya from North to South consisting striking escarpments, dormant volcanoes, bubbling geysers and unfolding startling views from peaks and crests.
In this beautiful, tropical and semiarid regions, you will explore some of the Lake surrounding aboard a motorized boat as well as taking brisk walks along the banks and islands of the Lakes. From Pink flamingoes, Raptors, pelican colonies, wading birds, hippopotamus pods to an outstanding wildlife spectacle and warm hospitality, this safari guarantees an exceptional experience showcasing Mother Nature at its best.

Day 1:
Nairobi- Lake Naivasha.
You will be picked from the airport or from your hotel by our representative for a safari briefing; then depart for Lake Naivasha passing through the central Kikuyu highlands and taking a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley escarpment view point. On arrival you will have lunch and later in the afternoon, have a boat ride and a tour of the Crescent Island. Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake fringed by a forest of yellow acacia, a vegetation of thick papyrus, cactus, pepper trees and a wide variety of flower plants. Enjoy watching a broad selection of different bird species, lots of hippos and numerous wildlife roaming free by the banks of the Lake.
Meals and Overnight at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort or similar {FB}
Day 2:
Lake Naivasha-Lake Nakuru.
Breakfast is served early followed by our departure, we shall be taking a morning adventure tour of the Hell’s Gate National Park, an impressive geomorphological feature formed from early volcanic activities, this resulted in the creation of spectacular sceneries of towering cliffs, scrub clad waste volcanoes, gorges and obsidian caves. Here you can opt for a biking expedition or a walking safari amidst spectacular wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Afterwards, we shall proceed on to the Lake Nakuru National Park with a short stop at Lake Elementaita, we arrive in good time for check in, Lunch and brief relaxation. Game drive follows in this marvelous park famed as a bird watcher’s paradise until sunset.

Day 3:
Lake Nakuru-Lake Bogoria.
Early morning sunrise game drive in Lake Nakuru, a great opportunity to explore the park further, capture some predators as they pursue unsuspecting prey, watch more birds and primates, we are on the lookout for the rare Rothschild Giraffe unique only to this park and also prospect to see a good number of Rhinos, Buffalos, Eland, Zebras and numerous other grazing herbivores. We return to the lodge for proper breakfast andfor our midmorning departure to Lake Bogoria, this drive takes us across the Equator and into the Northern frontier.
Lake Bogoria is a heavily alkaline lake rich in blue- green algae which attracts vast flocks of greater and lesser flamingos, a major attention grabber. The area is dry and semiarid surrounded by high basaltic cliffs, active hot water geysers dot the Lake shores forming some impressive misty sprays. An adventure around this park feels like an off the beaten track experience where you encounter a good variety of wildlife that includes the rare Greater Kudu, Gerenuk, Giraffes, Zebras, Buffalos, warthogs and a prolific birdlife.
You check in at the Lake Bogoria spur for Lunch, enjoy their naturally heated swimming pool and later head for an afternoon game drive in the Park until sunset. Return to the spur lodge for dinner and overnight {FB}.
Day 4:
Lake Bogoria- Lake Baringo
Breakfast in Lake Bogoria followed by our departure for Lake Baringo; the second fresh water lake in the Rift Valley and a top general birding hotspot, a critical habitat for over 470 species of both endemic and migratory birds, also supporting a remarkable number of wildlife species notably crocodiles, hippos, reedbuck, bushbuck, klipspringer, kudu, Zebras and Gazelles. The Lake hosts six species of fish including Tilapia, Nile Perch, Lungfish and Barbus. Lake Baringo has several islands, popular among them is Olkokwe which has fumaroles and hot springs while others have Sulphur deposits. The area has important archaeological and paleontological sites of great significance.
We arrive at the shores of Lake Baringo by midmorning and take a guided tour of the Museum and snake park, Later we shall board a motorized boat for an exploration of the Lake and heading to the Island camp for Lunch and check in. Opt to sail back to the main land for an afternoon nature walk with a specialist resident bird watching guide or relax in the camp until evening and for the overnight{FB}.
Day 5:
Lake Baringo-Nairobi
Opt for an early sunrise boat excursion around Lake Baringo and return to the camp afterwards for breakfast and departure or take an unhurried breakfast planning to leave with your luggage while taking an enroute boat adventure to the mainland, whichever way you choose, we plan to leave Lake Baringo by 10am for a scenic drive back to Nairobi, stopping briefly in Nakuru for our Lunch after which we then proceed on to finally arrive Nairobi by evening. You are dropped off at your reserved hotel or at the airport for your onward flight.
This marks the end of our 5 days marvelous adventure around the Great lakes of the Rift valley full of excitement and fond memories.
