This safari takes you to the most popular game reserve in Kenya and through other two magnificent parks all endowed with a rich diversity of wildlife and breathtaking sceneries. To enhance your experience, you will also visit 3 great lakes of the Rift Valley that offers a great bird watching opportunities.You start off your safari in Maasai Mara, a world heritage site which is the most visited and protected Park covering an area of 1,812 square kilometers. Mara means spotted, it constitutes miles upon miles of savannah grasslands, forest glades, meandering rivers, rocky outcrops, swamps and towering escarpments. It is a rewarding wildlife arena at any time of the year but the climax is during the annual wildebeest migration that runs from July through October of every year. Enjoy a time of unlimited opportunities watching prides of lions, cheetahs, Leopard, Hyenas, Jackals, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalo and countless of other game roaming free in this reserve, all complimented by golden sunrise and sunsets.
Your tour will then head to Lake Nakuru national park, a beautiful park set on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. This 118 sq km park is dotted with a forest of yellow acacia, open grasslands, bush shrubs and euphorbia cactus, the scenery is amazing consisting of cliffs, small mountains, rivers and rocky outcrops. The park is host to the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and has a good population of both black and white Rhinos. Other animals spotted here are Buffaloes, Eland, Zebras, Impala, warthog and several predators notably the tree climbing lions, Leopard, Hyenas and Jackals. For ornithologists, this is a pure paradise that has been established as an important bird area {IBA}, flamingos, Cormorants, Darters, Eagles, storks, vultures, are some of the species spotted here, you will also have a chance to watch more birds in the neighboring lakes of Elementaita and Naivasha.
Amboseli will be the final wildlife habitat to finalize your safari, set some 260km south east of Nairobi, this is the ultimate destination to watch large herds of elephants, its estimated that the Amboseli ecosystem is a host to some 1600 elephants and hundreds of other herbivores, Watch closely as elephants forage and bathe in the park’s numerous swamps. Mount Kilimanjaro is also a main attraction in Amboseli, standing at 5,895M, it is the tallest free standing mountain in Africa. Amboseli offers the best views of this snowcapped mountain presenting a great background for photographs. Enjoy watching a wide variety of water birds including flamingos, geese, ducks, kingfishers, storks, Egrets and a number of primates and predators.

Day 1:
Nairobi- Maasai Mara Game Reserve
7:00AM. Early morning departure to Masai Mara national reserve, our journey takes us through the beautiful Central highlands and on to the floor of the Great Rift Valley then head to Narok town before traversing the loitta plains to arrive at our Masai Mara Lodge or camp in good time for lunch, early afternoon is at leisure.
4:00PM. Proceed on our first game drive, we are in a real natural game arena where spotting of the big 5 is an almost sure guarantee, enjoy an amazing game drive and great scenery until sunset when we return to camp for dinner and overnight. {FB}.
Relaxation by a bonfire is a good idea before bedtime.
Day 2:
Masai Mara full day exploration.
6:30AM. Breakfast is served early, followed by our departure for a full day game drive in the sprawling Mara, this is the day to penetrate the Mara reserve further enjoying great herds of grazing herbivores, lion prides, and occasional sights of a cheetah or a Leopard.
A picnic lunch is later served under an acacia tree amidst countless wildlife and an outstanding scenery, depending on the season, we may have a chance to witness the great spectacle of wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River, we return to camp by late afternoon with a continued enroute game drive. We have an option to pass by a Masai traditional village for an exciting cultural experience that includes brilliant performances of Songs and dances conducted by colorfully decorated Masai women and brave warriors, we then return to camp for dinner and overnight. {FB}.
This day can be adjusted to start with an early morning balloon safari over the Mara wilderness at an extra cost, then connect with your guide and proceed on with a full day game drive after the midmorning champagne breakfast.
Day 3:
Masai Mara -Lake Nakuru National Park.
7:00am.Breakfast in Masai Mara followed by our departure for Lake Nakuru, we set off early for an interesting drive through the scenic valleys of the Mau forest, enjoying beautiful views of rural farms dotted with wheat, corn, potatoes and vegetables. The Mau escarpment is considered a bread basket of Kenya. We arrive at the Lake Nakuru National Park in good time for lunch. Afternoon game drive follows shortly in this magnificent park known for its great number of flamingoes which form a pink flamboyance on the banks of the lake. We are on the lookout for the Rhinos, Buffalos, Giraffes, Zebras, Elands, and a big selection of other grazing herbivores. We could also spot a pride of lions, a pack of hyenas, jackals or find the ultimate prize in this park; the elusive Leopard.
Enjoy watching more animals and a variety of birds until sunset when we head back to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight {FB}.
Day 4:
Lake Nakuru-Lake Elementaita-Lake Naivasha excursion.
Breakfast in Lake Nakuru, we then load up our vehicle for one more game drive in the park, this morning game drive is focused on what we may have missed the previous day.
We shall then exit the park for a smooth drive to Lake Elementaita another shallow alkaline lake a few kilometers from Nakuru. Lake Elementaita is managed by the local community who give guests access to walk along the banks while making photographs of flamingos.
Afterwards we proceed on to Lake Naivasha and immediately check in at our lodge or camp for Lunch. Spend the early afternoon at leisure before taking an optional activity of exploring Lake Naivasha; a fresh water lake in motorized boat. The 1hour,30 minutes boat excursion will take you closer to a pod of hippopotamus, and enable you to access part of the 400 birds species found in this lake. Some of the birds seen includes African fish eagle, Great cormorant, Goliath heron, Giant Kingfisher, spoonbills, storks and Geese. You will also be in close proximity of a wide range of animals grazing by the banks of the lake. Giraffes, Zebras, Impalas, Waterbuck, wildebeest, are some of the animals easily spotted. You will be returned to the banks enjoying a golden sunset in the horizons.
Dinner and overnight in Naivasha.
This day can also be adjusted to include a walk at the Crescent Island or a biking safari through the Hell’s gate national park.
Day 5:
Lake Naivasha- Amboseli National Park.
Early breakfast in Naivasha, then we depart for Amboseli through Nairobi, an interesting drive eastwards passing the scenic view of Mount Longonot and observing the deep Great Rift Valley floor below us. Enjoy breathtaking scenery of the Kikuyu central highlands and admire the open plains of rural villages just after passing the Nairobi metropolitan district. We take a break at Emali town for bathrooms and refreshments.
We then proceed on through the Masai plains of Meruesh and ibilkan to finally arrive at our Amboseli Lodge or Camp in good time for lunch.
Afternoon game drive commences around 3:30pm until sunset when we return to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight {FB}.
Day 6:
Amboseli National Park full day exploration.
6:00am. Breakfast in Amboseli followed by a full day game drive exploring the park, an early morning start increases our chance of capturing the dawn activities of predators and also assures a clear view of Mount Kilimanjaro popularly known as the roof of Africa. We have an unhurried game drive, visiting the numerous natural swamps dotting this park where a concentration of animals is to be found, we shall also look out for the hyena dens. Photography in this park is amazing with Mount Kilimanjaro forming a beautiful backdrop of your images. Enjoy your picnic lunch at the observation hill, the highest vantage point in Amboseli. We return to our lodge or camp around 4pm after a day of exciting adventure. Dinner and overnight at our Amboseli Lodge/camp {FB}.
Day 7:
Amboseli- Nairobi {Hotel or Airport drop off}
8:00am.Breakfast in Amboseli, followed by our departure for Nairobi, our drive today is easy and comfortable, takes us through Emali and the beautiful Athi plains, the route is now somehow familiar. We shall take a brief stop for washrooms and souvenir shopping and also find a convenient place for our lunch.
We arrive at your reserved hotel or at the Jomo Kenyatta international airport in good time to check in or for your homebound flight.
This marks the end of 7 days southern Serenity safari full of excitement and fond memories.
